Good Friday Natchez Trace Ride

How about a ride out and back on Natchez Trace on Friday? Suggest 9 AM start... ride south for 2 hours and back for 2 hours.

Can't get lost! Groups of various paces can start and finish about same time if we all ride same time to turnaround.

Park at the northern terminus parking lot. Milepost 440

Lunch after at Loveless Cafe perhaps.

See link to see where the start is, but generally one can take I-40 down to Old Hickory Blvd, and then turn right on Route 100. The entrance to the Trace is near Loveless Cafe. If anyone more familiar with the area can give better directions, please do.

Please post to get or share rides. I can take one. Suggest riders and drivers meet at Sams and plan to leave at 8:00 AM.

I would love to join you but I have to be at work at 1pm. I plan on riding in our area that morning if anyone else is interested.

Parking is available at milepost 440 on the trace a few miles from the North Terminus.

Let's go ahead and set 9:00 AM as the start time.

I can give anyone a ride in the Van but you need to meet me at Sams. I still don't know where we are to be to start the ride so Tom could you send me directions as to how to get from Sam's to the place of our meeting or call my office tomorrow at 824-1055. Thanks. Gary

PS: Tom , how far is it from Sam's to our meeting place?

I'd say it's at least 45-60 minutes from Sam's to the Trace, maybe a little longer depending on traffic. I think Tom's directions are pretty good-65S, to 40W, to OHB in Bellevue, to 100, this is a few miles, OHB crosses highway 70 at a pretty big intersection, don't turn here. The OHB/100 intersection is a T, turn right on 100. It's 4ish miles on 100 to Trace entrance. After you pass Chaffin's Barn, be on the look out for the Loveless. Trace entrance is just past that. Parking area is a few miles down on the right. If you cross the 96 Bridge, you've gone way too far. Watch out for bikes on the Trace-there are some blind curves.

There is water/restrooms at the Garrison Creek parking area about 10-15 miles from where we start. If Puckett's grocery is open on Friday, there is food 3-4 miles off the Trace at the Pinewood exit in Leiper's fork. No food stops directly on the Trace.

Can I hop in with ya? (I've lost use of the cargo van I usually have.) Had to take it back to work.
