Red Boiling Springs Ride

Shirley and I drove the course today. WOW!! I was out of breath going up the Hill from Hell in my car. Shirley will be on the course both days. She will have cold water, some snacks, and basic first aid stuff with her. She will set up a rest stop, day 1, under the pavilion at the Pleasant Shade elementry school around the 46mi mark. We can figure out ways best to do on day 2 sat evening. Her cell # is 615 598 1576. If you have any special needs or can think of anything else that she needs to carry just call her and let her know. She can also carry any gear that you have from Sams to RBS. This shoud be an amazing ride. Roger

I am not sure you did the Hill from Hell. It is on Day #2. The one on Day #1 will wear you out. We usually rest a couple of times while pedaling up it. As far as other things Shirley can bring -- a long rope for those of us not too proud to hitch a ride up SR10 or a bike rack with an empty slot ready for my bike at the bottom of the SR10 hill.

Very good. I'm not sure where Pleasant Shade Elementary is but will start looking at mile 45. Day one the big climb starts about mile 50 on SR 80.

Roger,
Found Pleasant Shade Elementary on Google Streets. It's just past and adjacent to the store I'd listed on the cue sheet.
Hill From Hell depends on who is doing the naming. Tom and the Fogbee's on the first RBS ride mean the short but walking up steep hill on Echo/Storytown road. Gary and those who only rode the second RBS ride are talking about Ferguson Hill Road. The Climb up TN 80 from Pleasant Shade to TN 56 is this year's candidate. Lucky us gets to compare two of them this year. Guess we'll have a poll next week.
