A BIKE RIDE BY ANY OTHER NAME

FUN OLD GUYS AND GALS took advantage of yesterday's fair breezes and cotton candy skies to tour scenic Trousdale and historic Sumner Counties. The pace was conducive to immersing oneself into the often missed details and nuances of our wonderful biking terrain which we often take for granted. With historian, wiz of FOG, Tom Evans, and pathfinder extraordinaire, Bruce Day, our small band relished the by ways and highways as one. And yes, Bruce can pack more PUCs into 25 miles than anyone else in the biking kingdom !

On another note, we initiated a new FOGBEE, Ellen Getter ( a.k.a. Minnieball ), after she dropped the Cannonball on the descent into Hartsville. Reassuringly, Dillehays Cafe still serves macaroni as a vegetable and chocolate pie as an entree.

SEE PHOTOS BELOW AND ON SHUTTERFLY.  ENJOY !  LIFE'S A BIKE.

It was a fine day. Given the glorious weather, easy pace, and great company I could have ridden forever. Truly, a bit of Heaven on earth.

By the way, it began as a "sacrifice" of a day dictated by the need to nail down the final rest stop for the Cycle For Life Ride in October. One can do quite well while doing good.
