This afternoon Representative Carter withdrew HB1650--SB1716, the troublesome anti-bike and anti-greenway bill that proposed to strip funding from bicycle and pedestrian projects.
Hundreds of people signed area petitions, contacted their representatives, shared the message with friends and family and helped defeat this bill. Assisting in the effort were Bike Walk Tennessee, the American Heart Association, Greenways for Nashville, etc. Also Mayor Barry came out against the bill.

Wonder if Representative Carter could be heard as he exited the building, "I'll be back!" He sure was tenacious this year.
