To ALL cycling groups; FOGBEES, FOGBEE WEEKDAY RIDERS, STATE LINE RIDERS. If you are attending Doc's COL service and staying for lunch afterwards, I need your help with a response.

Mike K.bhas done a wonderful, hardworking job of smoking five pork butts of FOG-BE-CUE,along with his famous Baked Beans. Keri (Doc's wife) has requested us (Doc'sbcycling groups and cycling friends) to also bring a side dish of Baked Beansband Cole Slaw, also any specialty dish or dessert you would like to share.

The attendance number for the COL and lunch is unknown, but we are thinking around 70ish to 100 people. I don't know which is more popular, beans or slaw? but I think beans. If you are attending the lunch afterwards please bring a small portion of Cole Slaw and a large portion of Baked Beans.

If you could respond on this Blog in the comments, OR anyone of the groups mentioned above Facebook Page, that you are attending the meal afterwards and will bring Baked Beans and Cole Slaw, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't respond to this blog, or any of the Facebook Groups you may text a response to 615-572-5045 with your name, number of attendees and a yes to BB and CS.

Thank You!!

If you missed it there is always next year. We started out on Friday Oct 20th with 13 riders but unfortunately a broken spoke sent "purple bike Mike G." home early; too bad "MacGyver Bruce" or "MacGyver" Ed wasn't along. Weather was perfect, food was good, fire pit was good, routes were good, but most of all the company and fellowship with great friends was amazing and always the weekend highlight! Without participation this 3 day ride is not possible, thanks to all that attended and helped with the planning. Special thanks to Traci and Mike Short for providing the vehicle and hauling bags and coolers to RBS and back! Everything else can be a mess and tolerable but without our bags and coolers its a "crap show." Thank you Traci and Mike!

Between all riders appox 2,000+ miles and 81,000+ feet of elevation was ridden (not sure how many miles Tony rode around the rest stop store on Sunday :).

Dates are tentative for 2024, October 18th, 19th and 20th.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; Circumstances this year have taken us down to a couple riders for the ride next weekend, October 7 & 8. But if you're so inclined, you can still support the event with a donation, or you can still register to ride, for that matter. Not just "Football Time In Tennessee", but FOGBEES annual fall ride to Red Boiling Springs and the historic Armour's Hotel!

RED BOILING SPRINGS WEBSITE

October 20, 21, 22 will be here in just a few weeks. I have been in touch with Mark and Kallay the new owners/inn keepers and they are excited to have us back for another fun weekend. We have the entire hotel booked (12 rooms) except for one that was reserved long ago. There is currently one room available at the hotel, and I am holding two more for folks that will decide soon, there could be 2--3 rooms open up. But not to fear as there are other hotels in the area and just down the street so we can all still gather and fellowship on the front porch at the Armour's and enjoy Kallay's wonderful cooking.

Those that I am holding rooms for, please confirm as soon as possible. If you want to attend and enjoy three days of cycling with the FOGBEES, or two days or even one day please reach out to me as we have routes that can accommodate most everyone. For example, if you want to ride from Gallatin to Hartsville and have lunch with us; there is a route. If you want to park in Hartsville and ride to RBS; there is a route, same on the returns. Saturday we will ride from the Hotel into Gainesboro and back, several routes available, 60+, 51, and a shorter route. Sunday we ride back to either Hartsville if you parked there or Gallatin.

This is a rain or shine ride, and many of us have rode it in all kinds of weather, makes for good conversation on the porch. This is always a fun weekend for the FOGBEES and their wives, if you are interested you can still join us, give me a call at 615-572-5045, email me jerialwoodall@gmail.com, or catch me on a ride soon.

Routes are being finalized and the same needs to happen for the head count so I can give Kallay a hard number for food.

Routes and final details will be posted by Oct 15th. Questions reach out to me.

See Ya There!

Woody
Woodyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17836724781874123589noreply@blogger.com2
