Mayor to Speak at Bike to Work Day Event

May is Bike Month all across the nation and Walk / Bike Nashville invites you to join us for the 2011 Bike to Work Event   Friday, May 20. Mayor Karl Dean will speak to participants at 7:45 a.m. at Church Street Park.  Mayor Dean has been a strong supporter of biking and walking in Nashville and recently announced his “Walk 100 With the Mayor” to increase the use of Nashville’s many greenways and bike paths.

Walk Bike Nashville invites all cyclists, potential cyclists and pedestrians to join us for the celebration of bicycling transportation at Church Street Park downtown (on the corner of Church Street and Capitol Blvd.)   Refreshments, juice, coffee, snacks and water will be provided.

For convenience and safety, volunteers will be leading groups on designated routes into downtown.  We urge everyone to ride with our groups whether or not you work downtown.  Participation in these groups is not mandatory to join the celebration or visit with the Mayor.

For more information contact Carey Rogers 615-828-6551.
