PEDALS FOR PAWS, SATURDAY, 4/27/24

 

The annual Pedals for Paws is scheduled for this Saturday, April 27th from the Gallatin Civic Center.

Hang around for the post ride meal and play with some puppies.  There will be lots of good food, beer from Yazoo and vodka from Tito's.   Maybe you can go home with a new best friend!

Below is the link to Acitive.com to register for the ride.  Cost is $45 till midnight on April 25th.  Cost will increase to $50 on the day of registration. 

There will be three opportunities for early packet opportunities.  You can also register at the early packet pickup. 

Tuesday Packet Pickup at Yazoo Brewery in Madison.  Come join the fun and get a token for a free beer at the brewery. 

Wednesday Packet Pickup is at Bikers Choice.  Stop by and have a beer from Yazoo.

Thursday Packet Pickup is at Double Dogs in Gallatin.  Pick up your packet and get a $5 coupon.

 It's going to be a beautiful day for Steve's and Susan's send off. The rides will have staggered starts from the Farm (923 Tyree Springs Road) to bring us in somewhat together for the afternoon festivities.

Steve and Susan Curtis Movin' To Florida Ride and BBQ from The Farm, Saturday April 13th.

 Update:

Looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day for a ride and barbecue. We will eat around 12:30-1:00.

Dave Miley is planning some routes that will have staggered start times and various distances and difficulties. 

Please bring a side, your favorite adult beverage and a chair.  Post what you will be bringing.

Steve and Susan are moving to Florida at the end of the month.  Something about looking forward to living in a gate community where couples frequently swap keys to their golf carts.  Not sure I get it, but hey if you are a golf cart fan, to each his own. 

So we are going to have a Movin' to Florida Ride and BBQ on the 13th to see Steve and his lovely Susan off, to send them on their way, to wish then a good farewell, wish them a safe journey, wish them the best on the next chapter in their life, fare thee well, see ya round,....  You get the idea.

Details on the ride will be posted later.  We will be grilling burgers and brats.  

Bring a side, a chair and your significant other, spouse or whatever.  Post what side you plan on bringing.

Doc Brew Boone Celebration of Life Saturday March 16th. at the REHOBOTH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 2601 Cages Bend Road, Gallatin TN 37066. His wife has ask that the FOGBEE'S plan and host a ride from the church in honor of Doc.

The Big Hill Challenge is now The Milligan, a bike ride event on June 8, 2024 in Watertown, TN. The Milligan bike ride honors the memory of Alyssa Milligan, a beloved member of the Veloteers Bicycle Club and an avid cyclist who was killed by a motorist while cycling on September 8th, 2023.

With a heavy heart I want to inform you that we have lost another FOGBEE. "Doc Brew" or "Doc" as we called him lost his battle with cancer last night and passed, he was 51 just a few days from his 52nd birthday.. 

His wife Keri told me they "will be making plans in the coming days and want to make sure all Shan's biking friends are included. He loved you all. I will keep you posted"         

Bruce Update (revised from 12/22/23)

1/22/24: Today mid afternoon, Bruce finally got home.  He felt much more comfortable in his own bed. He still requests that we refrain from calling, emailing or texting until he regains more strength. He just gets too tired.

He said that he will reach out to us as he begins to feel well and strong enough.

1/17/24: Bruce has had a tough time but he said he is feeling quite good.  Late this afternoon he finally got moved from the ICU to a step down floor.  Still no word on when he may get discharged.  He still tires very quickly. His spirit remains very positive.
