Hello friends!

These kids are the future of the sport we love and now it’s time once again to give back and to encourage our youth to embrace a healthy lifestyle!

It’s takes 50+ Volunteers to pull this off every year! WE NEED YOU!

If you are available to serve as a course Volunteer please reply to JUST ME on this email and let me know if you want the same spot you had last year or if you’d like a different spot.

Thank you all!

I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

DATE CHANGE for the Red Boiling Springs 2022 Fall Ride (Updated June 20, 2022)

Due to a few conflicts we have moved up the Red Boiling Springs Fall Ride to October 21st, 22nd, 23rd. We will again stay at the Armour's  Hotel B&B with the new owners Mark and Kally Efros. They have a few less rooms than years past and I currently have 7 confirmed. If these dates work for you and your spouse/friend want to join us , please let me know. Also this is planned as a 3 day ride; Friday ride to RBS, Saturday local routes, Sunday back to Gallatin. You do not have to ride all three days, there will also be an option/route to start and finish in Hartsville. It is a lot of fun staying at the Armour's and socializing after the rides, wives and significant others are invited to attend.
More details as we get closer, but wanted to get this date change out as soon as possible.

Shake, Ride and Roll 2022

An ok turn out from the Fogbees in Auburn KY for the Shaker ride sponsored by the BGLOB’s. Several of them came down for the P4P in April and they were happy to see us for their Shaker ride. Myself, Mike K, John and Cindy C, Chris M and Tony the Tiger, all made the 50 miler thru some beautiful Logan and Simpson County KY farm land. Several of the SLR were also present and enjoyed the 50 mile route.Hung out under the shade tree after the ride for a few beverages before heading home.

Bob's Ride from Hendersonville to the Ocean

After two years of fits and stops, Bob's H2O is ready to go on this Saturday May 21st.  As the final "fit," the tour is without Bob. Nevertheless, the FOGBEE crew is still doing the two-week excursion. You can watch the entire story here as we make our way to the ocean.

Not to worry for Bob, we still have other multi-day tours in the plan that he and other FOGBEES can join -- even several we have not yet sketched.

FOGBEE Archives

In 2013, I started writing a monthly column about bicycles. Initially, the Indian Lake Peninsula Living editor thought I worked for Bikers Choice. I didn't and never included a byline.

Initially, the editor asked for a couple of paragraphs and photos every month. I ran out of ideas after about a year and Bikers Choice stopped paying its advertisement. Then the editor said, "Write stories about FOGBEES and use my byline."

I found about six years of your activities and photos to share. I did include a few non-bike stories that others requested. But, in mid-2020 COVID changed a lot. The magazine terminated and I was no longer able to ride with the club. I ran out of stories to tell.

My wife kept a copy of most of the magazines. Before I started to throw them to the trashcan, I made a copy of most of these articles and lots of FOGBEE activities and photos. I thought many of you would be interested in seeing some of these old times. Here is a list with hyperlinks that you can click to see each article.

Personal eBike Story

Making Personal Stories for eBikes

FROM CAREY:

Thanks to Ben and Tom for the stories. I’m convinced we need to make this as personal as possible since talking to people about class 1 and class 2 makes their eyes glaze over.

Nashville Greenways Commission

The following highlights to Carey's report are provided by T. Evans. As a owner of an ebike he thinks both the Nashville and TDOT regulations are misguided and lack knowledge of this new technology. He will offer position statement in the next several months. He supports Carey's attempt to educate regulators.
