Wounded Warrior

The first Wounded Warrior Ride was held in 2008.  It lasted for about three years.  This page records that history.

This is a simple 25-mile ride to show support for our Men & Women in uniform but especially those killed in action and / or severely wounded. The ride is to raise awareness for Wounded Warrior Project; they’re doing the same ride in Little Rock and Memphis next week and Nashville on Saturday. Most of the guys will be from the middle Tennessee area. The cost is $0.00 , but they will be taking donations that day.
In 2008 the ride is in memory of MASTER SERGEANT JAMES 'TRE' PONDER, Killed in action on June 28, 2005 in Afghanistan - answering the call from 4 Navy Seals surrounded by the enemy. His widow, Leslie Miller Ponder and their 2 daughters, Samantha and Elizabeth attended the ride. Numerous military personnel and “wounded warriors” led the ride and any and all supporters followed “to show support”.  More information
