FYI, it seems a developer with deep
pockets is seeking a zoning change so he can build a huge commercial
development next to the Virginia Creeper railtrail. A group of trail fans
is trying to get the Abingdon zoning board to deny the request. Their
information website is:
Smack on the "Petition"
button near the upper left. This will bring up a description of the
proposed project, and a place to enter your comments (if you want to comment)
and a button to "sign" the petition.
I have already signed the petition (once at Super8 Motel) and again
online, and added my comment as a member of the Fogbee Cycle Club of
Hendersonville/Nashville, TN.
