Update on Kim

With a rough start to the 2016 riding season we've already had a few mishaps. Kim is home with broken pelvis bones but fortunately they are not weight bearing so no surgery is required. She can stand without any pain but walking is very painful and she must use a walker. She will be home bound for two weeks but the prognosis is good. Thoughts and prayers have been and will continue to be much appreciated. We all hope for a full and successful recovery and look forward to having Kim back on the bike soon.
Also Brian was taken out by a dog Saturday on West Hester, no real injuries but we all know dogs on the road are a real concern.
With the winter of course comes pot holes and missing pavement, lets all be mindful of each other, call out slowing, broken pavement, dogs, debris and any other concerns on the roads, be vocal. Please visit the Bike Safety section on the blog for a refresher and reminder.

Stay safe out there!

Update and Request re: Bill Against Bike/Ped Funding

HB1650--SB1716 is on the Transportation Sub-Committee's agenda this Wednesday, 2/17/16. As pointed out by coastdownhills on his post, Another Anti Bicycle Bill, this bill would prohibit gas tax revenue from funding non-vehicular facilities. You can also find more information (and sign a petition stating support for funding bike/ped projects) at Walk Bike Nashville's website

Fogbees, please consider the impact of this bill and letting your state legislators know how you feel, especially now if you're represented by one of these Transportation Sub-Committee Members reviewing the bill this Wednesday:

Mayoral Race

1. What you should know: Some candidates are finding little support inside Hendersonville. They are being forced to raise money from sources outside our City.

2. What you can do to help: Sign this petition about campaign contributions and encourage your friends to sign it.
