Eddie and I plan to ride, hopefully the full 62 miles. The Holiday Inn Express website said there were no rooms available the evening of May 4.
I also like the idea of staying close to the trail. The Comfort Inn looks O.K. We'll go with the consensus though.
We discussed the options after Saturday's ride and the BEST plan is to meet in Atlanta at the Hampton Galleria. Mike Knake has lots of experience with it and recommends it. Doug (our event leader) has a plan to get everyone to the Alabama border. Most important by staying in Atlanta, we avoid the pack/unpack issue of multiple locations and provide the non-riders with the best opportunity for Saturday entertainment. Doug plans to get a block of rooms at the Galleria.
Rhonda and I plan on doing the 62 mile ride. Glad the plan is to ride from Alabama line towards Atlanta - this direction usually gives us a tailwind. :)
