Bruce, Thanks for putting this tour together. I was a great trip, especially on Sunday in the warm sunny weather. Montgomery Bell is a great destination & I am sure the non-riding SO's enjoined partying with us on Saturday night. Sitting along the Cumberland River on the route back watching boats and eating catfish sandwiches was a plus. Most important - thanks for whimping this ride down so we FAT OLD guys could enjoy it.
You may notice me holding my nose in this picture and Phil smiling broadly..NEED I SAY MORE! I had a great trip and sorry I couldn't ride back. (PS My team lost round one of hockey playoffs)
Thanks to Bruce for getting us motivated to tour and putting this route together. Regardless of the weather on Saturday, the spring flora was fantastic both days. I also enjoyed the roosters. The lilacs smelled great (and Phil didn't). It was all part of it. Looking forward to our next adventure in St. Louis.
No doubt, the FOGBEES would lack a lot of character ( and PUC's ) if not for the willing servant attitude of our intrepid long distance director, Bruce. Next time I won't eat the french fries. By the way, Gary, I only had a baked potato for lunch on the way back through Ashland City. The choice proved easier to digest and less socially offensive. GREAT experience any way you cut the cheese !
Well, I thought I had posted something last night, but can't find it. This was a great weekend. Bruce's timing was impeccable as we dodged the rain and had a great ride. I commented to Phil on the way back in the car that just these two days were a tremendous stress reliever and brought increased awareness of what is really important. Thanks to all of you. The camaraderie in this group is fantastic and I can't wait for St. Louis!
We were indeed fortunate with the weather. It is truly great to have have someone with whom to share this type of cycling. Such a congenial group of men and women is a blessing beyond measure. Bruce
