I wanted to send a short note to remind you that registration is open for the femme fondo women's ride to be held Saturday, September 8th in the tradition of Hope on Wheels.
The club has been a long-standing supporter of the all women's cycling
event historically held in Leiper's Fork. This year as the Minnie Pearl
Cancer Foundation focuses on special events related to what would have
been Minnie's 100th birthday, they decided to take a break from
administering the ride.
Through
my roles in promoting women's cycling at Gran Fondo Cycles and
personally, I knew that I had to step back into my event director shoes
and insure that women riders in our area could celebrate their abilities
to ride a bicycle with a special event designed just for them. We've
thus created femme fondo to be a wonderful day for cycling in the
country - encourage your loved ones to join you for a great ride and a
tasty catered lunch from Whole Foods Market. This ride reaches out to
women of all abilities and it is a great way to bring a non riding
friend to our wonderful hobby of cycling.
